The 13 days Uganda-Rwanda safari, it’s the most adventurous and luxurious trip anyone would want to experience which starts from Uganda airport and ends from Kigali international airport. You will have to visit the most visited national parks which are; Murchison falls national park, Queen Elizabeth national park, kibale national park, Lake Mburo national park, Lake Bunyonyi being the deepest lake in Uganda, Bwindi impenetrable national park. During this trip, you will have to view the big five wild from different national park which include; lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos and elusive leopard you will also be able to spot other animals which include; impalas, elands, giraffes, warthogs, crocodiles, hippos which are always seen during the game drives and boat cruise. Detailed itinerary of 13 days Uganda- Rwanda safari
Day 1: pickup from Entebbe
Depending on your location, you will meet our representative who will pick you up at the airport, brief you about the 13 days safari Uganda-Rwanda, and drive you the hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: transfer to Murchison falls national park
On the 2nd day of the 13 days Uganda-Rwanda safari, you will wake up have your breakfast, check out of the hotel and start your journey to Murchison falls national park on gulu highway which takes about 5-6 hour drive. On your way, you will stop at luwero market for refreshment, buy some fruit to eat on your way to Murchison fall national park. You will have another stopover in Masindi for lunch. Continue to Zziwa sanctuary for Rhino tracking and after you will set off to Murchison falls national park with view of beautiful tree species in budogo forest. Upon our arrival, you will drive straight to the top of the falls for the good views of waterfall, beautiful sceneries, among other not unforgotten the best experience at the top of the falls. After you will head back to lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 3: morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Morning game drive
You will wake up early, have your breakfast at your lodge, meet5 your guide/driver who will take you through the game drive experience. During this game drive, you will spot some animals like Uganda kobs, elands, impalas, leopards, lion’s hyenas, Jackson hartebeest, and view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will return too the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise
After lunch, you will be taken paara landing site as you wait for interesting boat cruise time. During this boat cruise, you will see certain animals like Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, among others which normally come to the river banks in afternoon searching for water. After boat cruise you will be taken back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: transfer to kibaale national park
After your breakfast, you will meet up with the e guide/ driver who will take you / drive you to kibale national park which normally takes about 1 hour drive. You will en-route for lunch in kasese town, visit the crater lakes, view the mount Rwenzori ranges among others. Upon your arrival, you will reach in late evening, check in lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: chimpanzee tracking
After an early breakfast on day 5 of the 13 days Uganda- Rwanda, you will meet up with the guide who will drive you to the headquarters for believing. During the briefing you will be advised to take bottle of water and packed lunch since trekking normally takes some time in the forest, after briefing you will be divided into 6 groups with each tour guide. After spotting them, you will give one extra hour to have good moment of pictures, study them about their behaviors and then you will be returned back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will drive for nature in bigodi swamp were you will carry o0ut the bird and certain birds will be spotted like; egrets, shoebills, crested cranes and many others. After birding, you will take back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
On your 6thj day of 13 days Uganda-Rwanda, you will wake up, have breakfast, check out of the lodge and set off to Queen Elizabeth national park. on your arrival you will have lunch, then continue to afternoon boat cruise at kazinga channel. During boat cruise you will be able to spot the buffalos, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, impalas. Viewing the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: morning game drive and evening boat cruise
On your 7th day, you will wake up early for morning game drive in kasenyi plains, during the game drive, you will spot some animals like, lions buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kob which normally graze in the savanna grasslands, the elusive leopard can also be spotted if you’re lucky. After your game drive you will be back to the lodge for lunch and refreshments.
Evening boat cruise
After lunch you will be taken to kazinga channel shore for boat cruise. During this boat cruise, it takes about 2 hours you will get chance to see elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kob, Nile crocodile, Hippos, bird species may include; egrets, kingfishers, African skimmer, pelicans, fish eagles and many more.
Day 8: transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After breakfast of 8 days of 13 days Uganda-Rwanda, you will check out of the lodge and you meet up with your guide to drive you to Bwindi impenetrable national park. as you get out of queen Elizabeth national park, you will use the southern exit were you will be able to spot the lion climbing in the trees. Continue your journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park in the late evening, check in for lodge, dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After morning g breakfast, you will be taken to the headquarters for briefing, with your [packed lunch and bottles of water, you will divided in the 5 group of people and each group will be allocated with the guide who will take you through the all experience. Gorilla trekking normally takes about 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the location of the gorilla because they normal move to different areas for water and food. During trekking you can spot the primates like baboons, L’hoest monkeys, plants and certain tree species that attract these primates. After spotting gorillas, you will be given extra hour to be with them. And you will en route back to the lodge for refreshment and dinner.
Day 10: transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
On the 10th day, of 13 days Uganda-Rwanda safari, you will wake up on your breakfast, check out of the lodge, and set off to Lake Bunyonyi in kabale district. Lake Bunyonyi is well known for being the deepest lake Uganda and second deepest in east Africa after Lake Tanganyika. It takes about 4-5 hours’ drive to Lake Bunyonyi from Bwindi impenetrable, you will arrive in the afternoon, and these tourists can opt to give the afternoon canoeing at the lake, during this activity you will be able to spot the islands on their lake, bird species and feel the weather condition of kigez region, beautiful sceneries, and landscapes. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: transfer to volcanoes national park
On your 11th day of 13 days Uganda- Rwanda safari, you will check out of the lodge, meet your guide and set off to volcanoes national park, you will use the katuna border in kabale district. On the way you will enjoy great views of terraced lands, farmlands. As you arrive to the lodge, you will continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: golden monkey tracking
After breakfast, you will meet your guide to drive you to the golden monkey trekking briefing which normally takes about 40minutes to 2 hours. During trekking, you will be guided by senior guide who will help you spot the monkey since they normally hide in the deep forest. After spotting them, you will be given extra hour in their habitats which gives you a chance to watch on how they feed, and live together in the forests, after you will be taken back to the lodge for lunch, after lunch, you will have community tour around the villages off Rwanda especially at iby’acu
Day 13: departure from Kigali
On your last day of the trip, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to start your journey back to the Kigali airport. You may continue to visit the Kigali museum, Kigali Genocide and other places if you have time. After the city tour you will be drooped to the airport for your next flight.
