Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – boat cruise on the Kazinga channel

You will be picked up from your hotel in Entebbe very early in the morning by our driver guide, briefed about the safari and then start the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. On the way, you will have a stopover for en-route lunch, after which you will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Upon arrival, you will go for your amazing boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, where you will be able to spot large herds of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water and other animals like buffaloes and elephants along the shores and spot aquatic bird species like hornbills, vultures, cormorants, kingfishers, and bee-eaters, among others. After the boat cruise, you will have an en route game drive as you connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver-guide to go for a morning game drive in the park, where you will look out for animals like lions, buffalo, leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, hyenas, warthogs, bushbucks, and others. After the game drive, you will drive out of the park and start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stopover for lunch en route. Upon arrival, connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience

You will have an early breakfast, carry a packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a gorilla trekking briefing at the park headquarters. After the briefing, you will be subdivided into groups of 8 people, where each group will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and an experienced park guide. Trekking gorillas in Bwindi National Park takes about 2 to 7 hours, depending on their location, because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. Once the gorilla family is located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the mountain gorillas, watching them feed, play, rest, breastfeed young ones, take photos, record videos, and learn more about their behaviours from the park guide, among others.

After the encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and either return to the lodge for relaxation or go for an interesting cultural tour in the neighbouring community where you will interact with the local people, learn about their culture, listen to their stories, and enjoy their performances, among others. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
