Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Your luxury safari will start with an early morning with a morning pick-up from Entebbe. After a short briefing session from the guide, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes about 5 to 6 hours. Upon arrival at the park, you will check into your luxury lodge. While at the lodge, you will be served lunch, and then you will relax for a while.
In the afternoon, you will leave the lodge and head to the famous Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel will last for 2 to 3 hours. While on the boat cruise, you will have encounters with the crocodiles, hippos and other animals like buffaloes and elephants along the shores taking water. You will also spot several birds like the African fish eagles, pelicans, kingfishers and saddle-billed storks. Once the boat cruise is done, you will get back to the lodge for relaxing, dinner and your night’s rest.
Day 2: Morning game drive and Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions
You will have an early morning cup of coffee and then depart the lodge for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains. You will be accompanied by a ranger guide, and you will make sightings of a variety of animals, like the buffalo, lions, leopards, elephants, bushbucks, antelopes, warthogs, and Uganda kobs, among others.
After the game drive, you will get back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you will journey south to the Ishasha sector of the park, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. This drive takes you through remote sections of the park, offering additional wildlife sightings along the way. Ishasha’s lions are known for lounging in large fig trees. Your guide will carefully scan the trees, and with patience, you may be rewarded with this extraordinary encounter. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and return to Entebbe Airport
You will wake up very early and have a cup of coffee before setting off to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will go for a chimpanzee trekking experience in Kyambura Gorge. The chimpanzee trek will take about 30 minutes to 4 hours. You will have views of other wildlife species as you search for the chimpanzees, and once you spot them, you will have one hour with them before heading back to the lodge. You will observe the chimpanzees feed and play, among other things. You will then go back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will check out and then embark on your journey back to Entebbe Airport for your departure flight.
