Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will meet with our company representative at a hotel in Kampala, and after the briefing, you will begin the drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park of about 6 to 7 hours. You will have a stop at the Equator crossing for photos and a quick refreshment break before continuing toward the park. Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will check into your lodge and enjoy lunch; then you head out for an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi Plains.
This area is famous for its lion population. If you are lucky enough, you may also spot African elephants, buffalo, waterbucks and bushbucks, warthogs, leopards and many more. After the afternoon game drive, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
You will wake up early for a morning game drive, the best time to sight many animals since they are always active in the morning hours. You will spend about 3 to 4 hours sighting wildlife. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before heading out for the next activity.
In the afternoon, you will engage in a boat safari along the famous Kazinga Channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This two-hour cruise offers some of Africa’s best water-based wildlife viewing. The channel is home to one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa, and you will also spot crocodiles. You will also get the opportunity to spot birds, for example, the African fish eagles, pied kingfishers, pelicans, saddle-billed storks and many more. After the boat cruise, you will be transferred back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
- Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 3: Ishasha Tree Climbing Lions and transfer to Bwindi
After breakfast, you depart for the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ishasha is renowned for its rare tree-climbing lions. Your game drive here focuses on scanning large fig trees where lions often rest on branches. Apart from the lions, Ishasha is also rich in topi antelope, buffalo, elephants, and others.
After your game drive, you will check out of the lodge after lunch and set off to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a journey of approximately 2 to 4 hours. Upon arrival at your lodge, you will check in and relax. You will afterwards enjoy dinner and retire to bed.
- Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and departure
You will be up early for breakfast before transferring to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to search for. You will be given an armed ranger guide to escort you to the trek. The trek will take 2 to 7 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. You will have only one hour with them after spotting them. After watching them as they engage in various activities like playing, feeding, grooming, and breastfeeding, among others, you will return to the lodge for lunch after getting a certificate of participation at the headquarters.
After lunch at the lodge, you will check out and then begin your return journey to Kampala, which is approximately 8 to 9 hours. You will either be dropped off at a hotel in Kampala or Entebbe Airport for your onward flight. That will be the end of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi gorillas safari.
