Detailed itinerary of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth birding safari
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe airport and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a night game drive at Mweya peninsular
On day 1 of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth birding safari, you will leave to Queen Elizabeth National Park from Entebbe airport with a guide who will pick you up on your arrival, and then you will have time to greet and then start the journey. You will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stop at the Equator Monument for pictures and Mpambire Drum Makers for a cultural experience and exposure to how they make the drums. You will have lunch in Mbarara town and then arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will get accommodation and relax. You will then head for a briefing at the park headquarters, and then the guide will take you for a night game drive to the Mweya peninsula that will start at 6 pm. The night game drive takes about 3 hours and you will spot nocturnal animals like the hyenas, leopards, among others. You will then retire to the lodge and have your night rest after eating.

Day 2: Morning game drive at Kasenyi plains and an afternoon boat cruise at the Kazinga channel
On day 2 of the Queen Elizabeth birding safari, you will have an early morning breakfast and leave the lodge for the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will leave for the Kasenyi plains for a morning game drive. This morning game drive exposes you to many wildlife species since it’s when they are most active. You will see the buffalo, elephants, leopards, bushbucks and many more. You will leave Kasenyi plains and head back to the lodge and eat lunch.
In the afternoon, you will start with a briefing and then go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. You will have a guide with you, and you will see water animals like the crocodiles and hippos, and also those on the shores like the elephants, buffalo and many more. You will then leave the channel back to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and night rest.
Day 3: Bird watching in Mweya peninsular and in the Ishasha sector
On day 3 of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth birding safari, you will have breakfast, and after the guide takes you for a briefing, you will head to the Mweya peninsula for a bird watching experience. At Mweya peninsular, you will sight birds like the Nubian woodpecker, swamp flycatcher, swifts, swallows, blue-napped mousebird, pygmy kingfisher, slender-tailed nightjar jar among others. You will then leave for the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, you will head to the Ishasha sector for a bird watching experience and also this sector offers views of birds and some of the birds that you will spot include the double toothed barbet, palm nut vulture, shoe bill, martial eagle, white brown Robin chat, Ross’s turaco, broad billed roller and many more. The guide will take you to the lodge, and you will sleep after dinner.
Day 4: Bird watching in the Katwe area and transfer back to Entebbe airport.
On day 4 of the safari, you will be given breakfast and linked with the guide to transfer you to the Katwe area for bird watching. While at the Katwe area, you will be able to see birds like the common green shark, lesser flamingos, African masked warbler, southern red bishop, croaking cisticola and many more. You will leave the Katwe area and head to the lodge and check out. You will then be transferred by the guide to Entebbe airport for your flight, and you will have an enroute lunch.
