Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the 1st day of the 5 days Queen Elizabeth and Mount Rwenzori safari, you will connect with the guide from Chopper tour and travel, and you will be able to get information about this Uganda safari from the guide. The guide will transfer you from a hotel where you will meet in Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have a stopover at Mpambire drum makers, and you will have a cultural experience at this place in Mpigi. You will also see how the drums are made, and then you will continue with the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park with an enroute lunch at Igongo Cultural Centre.
You will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park after lunch, and you will get a lodge and check in. You will have dinner and then you will retire to bed.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking
On the 2nd day of the safari, you will have breakfast early in the morning, and then the guide will transfer you from the lodge to the park headquarters for a briefing. You will have a guide to go with you on the chimpanzee trek after the briefing. You will head to Kyambura gorge to start the chimpanzee trek, and it may take you 30 minutes to 4 hours to locate the chimpanzees, considering their location. You will stay with the chimpanzees in their natural habitat for 1 hour when you find them. You will have to make your observations and also get information from the guide in order to clarify your observations. You will record some videos of these primates, and then the guide will take you back to the lodge. You will have lunch at the lodge and then relax.
You will have dinner later in the day, and then after the meal, you will go to bed for your night’s rest.
Day 3: Morning game drive and a boat cruise
On the 3rd day of the 5 days Queen Elizabeth and Mount Rwenzori safari, you will have breakfast and then go for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. You will have the morning game drive after a briefing at the park headquarters. The guides at the park headquarters will give you the guidelines to follow while on the morning game drive. You will be able to see the diverse ecosystems in Queen Elizabeth National Park as you are on a game drive. The animals in Queen Elizabeth National Park are very active in the morning; therefore, you will spot many of them. You will spot animals like the buffalo, elephants, bushbucks, leopards and many more. You will be taken back to the lodge after the morning game drive, and you will rest after the drive.
They will provide you with lunch at the lodge, and then in the afternoon, the guide will transfer you to the Kazinga channel, where you will conduct a boat cruise. The boat cruise on the Kazinga channel takes about 2 hours, and you will be able to enjoy the views of the wildlife along this channel. You will see animals along the water banks like elephants, buffalo and many more. You will also see the hippos and crocodiles. The guide will take you back to the lodge, and you will have dinner in the evening and retire to bed.
Day 4: Hike to Mount Rwenzori
On the 4th day of the 5 days Queen Elizabeth and Mount Rwenzori safari, you will have breakfast at the lodge, and then the guide will transfer you to the hike to Mount Rwenzori. You will hike to the Sine hut, which is about 2596 meters. You will have views of several primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, l’hoest monkeys and many more. There will be encounters with numerous wildlife species as you pass through forest zones. You will spend the night at the Sine camp, and dinner will also be given to you before you sleep.
Day 5: Descend and transfer back to Kampala
On the last day of the 5 days Queen Elizabeth and Mount Rwenzori safari, you will have your breakfast in the morning at the Sine camp, and then you will descend with the guide back to the starting point. The guide will transfer you back to Kampala with an enroute lunch and stopover at the equator monument at Kayabwe. You will have some pictures at the equator and also purchase some souvenirs. You will arrive at a hotel in Kampala, and that will be the end of the 5 days Queen Elizabeth and Mount Rwenzori safari.
